lol, looks like you've got quite a few critiques here xD
Alrighty, so I love almost 99.9% of the horse. The new tail is definitely sexy with all it's fly away strands and such. I wish you could have pu a few more fly away strands in the mane so the it could help interact with BG a bit more, but the mane you've got now is pretty sexy too Congrats for staying concious of the highlights and shadows in the mane and tail. Not everybody realizes that black hair can have shading too ^-^
I also love how your horse feathers help to make the horse belong to the BG. You did an excellent job with that, it looks awesome. Ditto with the ribbon removal on the tail and halter removal on the face You stayed true to the horse's bone structure (methinks) and I had to go check out the stock a second time to see if there was a halter ever there
Now I'm not sure if it's the contrast or something else, but my mind really isn't liking the water in the BG >.> The rock looks bloody awesome and very much seems to belong with the horse. The water on the other hand doesn't look like it belongs (but that's just my opinion). I think it's because the horse and cliff have a certain darkness to them, like they're actually under a storm cloud whereas the water is clearly under a much brighter sun. I think the simple solution to this might be to pass the burn tool set to highlight mode over the BG and darken it up a bit. Remember though, the father away the water, the darker it'll be. You don't have to darken it much - proof of that would be everybody else's comments that the horse and BG are already blended perfectly - but I think that the horse would look like it belongs more in the picture if you darkened the water in the back a wee bit.
So yeah, your cutting is superb, the lighting of the horse and rock is awesome (I love a darker scene ) and your tail/horsefeathers are awesome too. I only really suggest you try fixing the water by darkening it up and maybe fooling around with the contrast afterwards. See what happens. Good luck in future endeavours! Keep up the good work
What a wonderful manip! The cutting is very well done-- better than what I can do! And I love love the theme! Here are a few tips on how you can make this even better... *Try to darken the background a bit- play with its contrast and coloration to give this a more professional feel Maybe add a texture for even more emphasis! *I know many people have said this before... but the lighting of the horse needs to be a bit more apparant Thats all for today, folks! See you next time!! Sorry... I felt like adding that
thanks (: I think I used my laptop mouse to cut this one, using a tablet to cut always screws up for me xD
I knida gave up on the lighting, it was getting really annoying as I didnt know what to do xD BUt i did a bit of dodge/burn which improved it a little O_o (:
hmmm. texture, nice idea ^.^ Rain seems very fitting?
Haha I always think using a mouse is easier than a tablet... *shhhhhh And about the lighting;; as long as you know how to fix it your good Rain would be good
Lovely manip! The horse looks great - well smudged and everything! Now here's your crit: It doesn't really look like horsey fits in with the background. But i think that's because of the background, not the horse. It doesn't look like you have edited or changed the background much, if at all, especially the sea. The cliff looks better than the sea, and i think if you fiddle around with the sea more, maybe adjust the colours and stuff, then show me, i'll see what i think XD
yeah, the only thing I did to the BG was darken it, up the contrast and burn it a bit O_o normally I would have replaced the sea with a fantasy sky, but the person dodnt want a fantasy theme >.<
I'll adjust some more stuff at some point, but right now i'm trying to work out how the heck to do an ice themed horse xD
Great drawing-whoever did it.I am kinda fuzzy on who originally did it.xP
